Will you tell my parents?
open

No, not unless you ask us to. Young people, including those under 16, have the same right to confidentiality as adults. Everything you say will be kept confidential, unless we feel:

  • You or someone else is at risk of serious harm.
  • There is an intention to commit or has been a serious crime committed.

If we need to share information with any other professional, we will, wherever possible, talk to you about this first.

We have to keep records of our appointments which are kept secure within Dorset HealthCare data systems. They cannot be read by anyone outside of the sexual health service.
